A BC forest company needed to map the characteristics of hundreds of thousands of hectares of forest land in order to meet government standards for setting harvest volumes. They faced a technically complex, expensive and lengthy process.

Steve Wilson re-framed the situation with a fresh perspective, mining a large quantity of data already on hand and creating an information model that elegantly mapped the area to the required standard.

The result? The project was completed in a fraction of the time and at a much lower cost than originally anticipated, and the company gained a tool that could be used to manage new information adaptively and continue to provide value through lower costs and higher efficiencies.
